…kidding, of course. I just watched a clip of Michelle Obama on The Colbert Report. I'm honestly not quite sure that conservatives honestly believe their own rhetoric that the Obamas are any more "arrogant" or "self-centered"than the normal first family. Take this, for example:
Remember when Rep. Westmoreland referred to Barack Obama as "uppity" back in 2008? You know that old idiom about how history tends to repeat itself?
I really try to steer clear of making vast generalizations about Barack Obama's opponents, not only because I want to be (somewhat) fair, but also because I don't want to be inaccurate. However, it seems to me that the right-wing has consistently tried to tie Barack Obama to racial stereotypes without mentioning race. A black man in public office! How uppity – just don't use the n-word.
