There's no need for a war with Iran

Sean Hannity, professional idiot:

Attaturk over at FireDogLake raises an excellent point:
While we may not want Iran to get the bomb because it would give them even more political leverage, it is not like they are going to use it to bomb Israel. Such an event would ensure their complete annihilation. The Iranian government may be kept under the control of religious conservatives, but not lunatics (that’s reserved for U.S. Congressional districts). Yet, Paul’s clearly accurate and logical statement is proclaimed to be the one out of the “mainstream”.
Those who support a war in Iran will often then claim that it would still use a nuke on Israel, because they would then consider themselves to be a "martyr state." Of course, that's patently absurd:
The "martyr state" myth is based upon two flawed assumptions. First, that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been uniquely willing to endure the deaths of its own citizens in order to achieve its policy goals. Second, that the Iranian Shiite regime's End Times theology actually induces it to trigger a conflagration.
Of course, Iran isn't a threat to the United States…

…and Israel's elite security forces actually agree with President Obama's opposition to starting a war with Iran. They know that starting a huge armed conflict would create more issues for Israel, the surrounding nations, and the United States than it would ultimately solve.

It's extremely disappointing to see the Republicans attacking Ron Paul over this admittedly unpopular, yet common sense position. It's difficult for people to admit, but the neo-conservatives in America want a war with Iran. Let's not mince words: saying that the United States needs to do more to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons is advocating war with Iran.
I'll let Ron Paul supporters remind* these neo-conservatives what an occupation really is:

UPDATE: How could I possibly forget this? Remember John McCain's "joke" from '07 about bombing Iran?

* I support about 95% of this commerical.
